New in 2022, Sony's 4th generation affordable full frame mirrorless camera continues to build on their reputation for high quality image and video quality. A new 33 megapixel BSI-CMOS sensor provides image resolution up to 7008 x 4672.
The improved autofocus tracking system incorporates tracking Eye AF as well as some animal tracking in both still and video modes. Pattern detection, color and brightness variations are also worked into its tracking AF algorithm providing a simple and effective experience.
Unlike its predecessor, the a7 IV is capable of shooting 4K/60p video which is great for underwater work where you want to slow things down in post-production. The increased frame rate does come at a cost of sensor usage, effectively cropping the resulting footage to APS-C dimensions.
Battery life is reduced a little to 580 shots per charge when using the rear LCD (CIPA). This is still a fair bit more than its competitors in the field: the Canon EOS R6 and Nikon Z6 II. All in all the Sony a7 IV is a great camera to shoot underwater with a wide variety of lens options from Sony, Sigma, and Canon (using a Metabones adapter).

The Sea Frogs SF-A7M4 housing was designed to be compatible with a complete accessory system, enabling photographers to enhance the quality of their images. It has an interchangeable front port system with several flat ports and dome ports to choose from depending on the lens you want to use.
